Bringing Acceptance Home
It is 637 nautical miles (739 statue) from Minnesott Beach North Carolina to Nyack Ny. Quite a shake down cruise. It took is about two and a half weeks of traveling though that included three days wating out a Nor-Easter in Cape May and a couple of days that were shortened by rough seas. Acceptance handled it all beautifully and that included a thunderstorm with 55+knot winds - and several days of very choppy seas. There was only one day in which we sailed for th most part. Wind was either too strong or from the wrong direction.
Prior to leaving we spent a week provisioning and otherwise getting ready. On the trip north we spent several nightt at anchor, a couple at free docks and a few at marinas when we needed a shower or shore time - especially for Zak, and waiting out the storm in Cape May. The weather was less than ideal, but we got a good taste of what cruising is all about. we learned a lot about the boat and ourselves and had a great time. Though our home was a welcome sight. A friend joined us for the long run from Cape May to NYC. Some Photos are below
