A vacation!
We set out in Mid July with ambitions of Nantucket and Provincetown, and after a few great days it looked as though we might make it. That was until the trough stalled and the winds picked up and the rains came (mostly at night.) Having learned our lesson that we are not yet ready for ten foot waves when we don't have to and that Small Craft Advisory means something - we elected to switch to cruising Narragansett bay - not a bad thing. When it cleared we did make it to Cuttyhunk where we spent two days then Block Island, Shelter Island and back down the sound. On the way we spent a day at Mystic Seaport.
When the forecast turned bad again we cut the trip short and got home before the rains really came. We now have to do some work on Acceptance anchoring next to Hinkleys made us aware that the cosmetics could use some work.
Traffic on the bridge was moving well. | |
